FRENCH PRESS

MAKES 2 CUPS

  1. Grind 37.5g of coffee (coarse grind/breadcrumb consistency). Heat water to 96°C (or allow boiled water to cool for around 30 seconds).

  2. Insert ground coffee into French press and add 50g water. Stir and leave to bloom for 15 seconds.

  3. Slowly add a further 450g of water into French press and gently push plunger down to top of water level.

  4. Leave coffee to steep for 4 minutes then plunge fully. Pour all coffee immediately into a cup or serving jug to avoid overextraction. Leave to cool for a few minutes before drinking.
