MAKES 2 CUPS
Grind 37.5g of coffee (coarse grind/breadcrumb consistency). Heat water to 96°C (or allow boiled water to cool for around 30 seconds).
Insert ground coffee into French press and add 50g water. Stir and leave to bloom for 15 seconds.
Slowly add a further 450g of water into French press and gently push plunger down to top of water level.
Leave coffee to steep for 4 minutes then plunge fully. Pour all coffee immediately into a cup or serving jug to avoid overextraction. Leave to cool for a few minutes before drinking.
